The THRIVE Hackathon is an event in the world of blockchain aimed to find 4 figures who will join Thrive Team in their journey of creating a Decentralized Ad Marketplace.
Get involved and you will be joining hackers, product developers, marketers, and business leaders in creating a new wave of blockchain technology.
July 23th and 24th Thrive Labs and Malta Life Sciences Park will be hosting a 2-Hack-Days event designed to find the most visionary developers of decentralization out there.
- First Day. Back end Hackathon: PHP, Node.js, Go, Python.
The winning one of each event will be awarded a hard cash prize of 1,500 EUR.
2nd ranked of each event, will get a prize of 1,000 EUR for a 5k EUR total prize.
The two people winning each event will be admitted to attend the Blockchain Hackathon hosted during the Malta Blockchain Summit (50K EUR prize).
Finally, the 4 most outstanding individuals will be proposed to join Thrive Team with a full time work contract in Malta. Anyone will have a chance to get hired by our Thrive talent scouts!
Silvio Schembri is an elected Maltese politician and academic currently serving as a Junior Minister for Financial Services, Digital Economy & Innovation within the Office of the Prime Minister of Malta. Hon Schembri was born in Luqa, the second child among four siblings. Silvio Schembri is an experienced lecturer in Economics with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry. He has a Master of Arts and a Bachelors Degree of Honours in Economics from the University of Malta.
Dr Joshua Ellul joined the Department of Computer Science at the University of Malta as a lecturer after having worked on R&D projects at IBM Research Zurich and Imperial College London. His main areas of research focus on Blockchain and IoT integration and virtual machines in aim of enabling a 'Blockchain of Things' reality. Dr Ellul was instrumental in setting up the multi-disciplinary Blockchain Research Group at the University of Malta, and is also actively working on curriculum development for Blockchain related subjects as well as other DLT related areas of research.
Tugce Ergul is a co-founder at Angel Labs, the world’s first investor accelerator with a strong focus on diversity & inclusion. Before founding Angel Labs, she worked as a Managing Director at Startup Labs where she managed over 30 successful digital investments. Tugce has been and continues to be a national and international consultant and speaker on economic development, angel and venture financing for numerous countries and NGOs including the EU and OECD. She has worked closely with several countries on their national entrepreneurship programs, and with digital agencies on their startup partnerships.
Giuseppe Scordino is the Chief Strategy Officer at Thrive Labs. Born in Italy, Giuseppe has developed his career in IT covering relevant positions in international corporates and management consulting firms. Giuseppe Scordino is an experienced professional in Anayltics and Digital Innovation with a demonstrated history of working in both Consumer Goods and Travel industries. He has a Executive MBA from University of Rochester (NY) and a Masters/Bachelors Degree in Automation Engineering from the University of Catania.
Mario Di Florio is a dedicated and hard-working facilitator and network enabler. He is currently Founder and Director of GozoLab, Curator for the Techstars Startup Digest in Malta, and COO of Bitmalta. He brings to the table years of experience in the organization of events, a keen interest in IT and new tech trends, and a natural touch in driving effective discussions.
